Devices

Each trigger is linked to one device. Within the device configuration, device-specific parameters, such as the IP address, port numbers or passwords, can be set. These settings are then used for every trigger associated with this device.

Every device type has next to the device-specific settings the following parameters:

Field Description
Description The name or description of the device. This name is used in the Broadcast Suite GUI as well as in the log files.
Category Category of the device
IP-Address The IP-Address of the device

Generic Device

Lawo Radio Console

Supported Trigger Types

ICMP Ping, Syslog, DMS, Ember+ Consumer (Generic), Ember+ GPIO, Ember+ Matrix, Ember+ Provider

This device type is used for Lawo OnAir Radio consoles (ruby/sapphire/zirkon) and routers.

Parameters

Field Description
Port The port of the device
Ember+ Provider Port Only required for Ember+ triggers, You can leave this field empty, if you plan to use DMS triggers only.
Use local DMS service If enabled, the DMS service (DmsDll) on the machine running Broadcast Suite Core will be used instead of a direct connection via TCP/IP.

Sound4

Supported Trigger Types

ICMP Ping, Telnet, Syslog

This device type allows the monitoring and control of Sound4 Voice- and Sound Processors.

Parameters

Field Description
Port Port of the Link&Share API
Username The username used for authentication with the device
Password The password
Card ID An optional card ID. This is only required if the host, which is running the Sound4 server, controls multiple cards.

Switch

Supported Trigger Types

ICMP Ping, RMON, S-Flow, SNMP, Syslog

The device type “Switch” is required by RMON and sFlow triggers.

Port The port of the device
SNMP Read Community The SNMP read community string used for RMON polling
Polling Interval The RMON polling interval in seconds

Windows

Supported Trigger Types

ICMP Ping, SNMP, WMI

Windows devices can be either Windows clients or servers which are being monitored with WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation).

Domain The Windows active directory domain name
Username The username used for WMI requests. This user needs the permission to make WMI requests.
